Albert Charles Pilcher

Albert Charles Pilcher  1885 – 1983

Albert was born in West Langdon on 27th October 1885, to George and Emma (née Toms).

In 1901, at the age of 15, Albert was working as a milk van driver and living with his family in West Langdon.

He married Alice Louisa Brown in Tilmanstone church on 5th October 1910, and by 1911 they were living at Butter Street Farm where he was a farm labourer. They had one daughter, Stella Mary, born in 1913.

It has proved impossible to narrow down War records for Albert by searching under any variation of his first names or initials. There appear to be many men of the same name, and it is most likely that his records have been lost so details cannot be verified at this date.

By 1939, Albert and Alice were to be found at the Railway Hotel, Station Road, Deal, where Albert is the Licensed Victualler.

He died in 1983.
