Bones, Bodies & Burials

Thursday 27th February, 2020

What happens after archaeologists discover human remains during a dig?

Well, the osteoarchaeologists step in.

By examining bones and teeth they can find out about the health, lifestyle, diets, physique and mortality of our ancestors. They can also research genetic relationships and the movement of peoples.

Our speaker, Dr. Ellie Williams, is an archaeologist from Canterbury Christchurch University who specialises in human osteology.

She will be talking about the methods and techniques used by her profession.

And you will have an opportunity to see and handle some real archaeological remains!

Ellie’s talk will be held in Shepherdswell Village Hall and starts at 7.30pm.

Entry is only £3. Members free.
